The game stars three characters: Miller, an American Marine taking part on the Pacific Front Dimitri Petrenko, a red army soldier, attending the Battle of Stalingrad with Sergeant Viktor Reznov, a character with whom he will maintain a friendship throughout the plot John Locke, an American gunner during the Battle of Okinawa, turns out to be the last playable character, however, appears in only one mission in the game. The world at war setting is set during World War II, and includes battles such as Peleliu, Okinawa and the Battle of Berlin. It should be said that in this game the Black Ops saga is started.
